Gwaine Cortez

Gwaine Cortez is a student pursuing a BFA in Emerging Media: Animation & Visualization at the University of Central Florida. His focus is 2d animation where he is dedicated to telling original stories through engaging visual narratives. With over four years of experience independently directing, writing, and animating videos online, he works across programs such as Toon Boom, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Animate, and Procreate. 

He is inspired by other animators and is driven by his own experiences as a Latino, queer, disabled artist, and has a unique interest in animals, nature, and mythology. He hopes to inspire younger artists to pursue creative paths and to represent voices and communities that are often underrepresented on screen.
